Description

The Tecware keyboard’s overall comfort is uncompromised; the keys sit comfortably under one’s fingertips, and the surface is pleasant to the touch. In this article, we are going to discuss what you need to know about the brand and how do they fare in the highly competitive market of gaming keyboards. As a mechanical keyboard, the Tecware Phantom comes with mechanical switches underneath the keycaps (see below for more info on this), and this particular keyboard is hot-swappable, meaning you can easily remove and replace the switches without having to solder or desolder anything. However, because Outemu switches have different pins to Cherry MX-style switches , you can only use Outemu switches on the keyboard. Outemu switches are used in the TECWARE Phantom RGB, and users can choose among Outemu blue, brown, or red switches.

I don’t think the “Outemu-only” hot-swappable thing matters for most, as this is a budget mechanical keyboard. Gamer Network Limited, Gateway House, 28 The Quadrant, Richmond, Surrey, TW9 1DN, United Kingdom, registered under company number 03882481. That's not to say this sort of thing won't happen again in the future, of course, and I'll admit I was disappointed that I was having to fiddle about with the key caps so quickly after I'd started using it. My editor jokingly told me that when I was done I could use this keyboard as a disco ball, but there is more than just a little truth in that statement. It's quite industrial looking, with its dark grey chassis, hard edges and angled corners, but it also has sensible fonts and is completely free of obnoxious logos and go-faster gaming stripes.

And generally speaking, they come with quite a bit of rattle and wobble (an issue that isn’t really fixed with switch films, as it’s the switch connection to the keyboard that is wobbly, not just the housing). You could say you get what you pay for, in that sense, but at least Tecware give you all the tools you need to fix any potential faults right off the bat instead of making you pay extra for them.

The Tecware Phantom comes with its own software, which allows you to do things like program macros and custom keybinds. As a result, I was able to pop off the key cap to check it was all right and then instantly reattach it without any problem. The majority of the function keys also serve as media controls and quick access to your music player, calculator, web browser, and even file explorer. Programmable Mouse - Gaming mice with 6 Dots Per Inch levels available from 800/1600/ 2400/ 3200 / 4000/ 4800, can easily adjust the Dots Per Inch to match the mouse speed instantly for different game. Many keyboard reviewers think that this brand deserves to be given the same amount of attention as other companies.

The Tecware Phantom RGB has a durable yet compact design that will last for years, thanks to an aluminum baseplate and double-shot keycaps. Please include what you were doing when this page came up and the Cloudflare Ray ID found at the bottom of this page. The Phantom RGB keyboard series from Tecware consists of the TKL 87-key and full size 104-key versions (not counting the similar but still distinctly different Phantom Elite keyboard lineup). Both the regular functions and the added functions did exactly as they were supposed to without me having to download anything extra or troubleshoot why, for example, the volume keys didn't actually adjust the volume. They come in two different flavors, red and blue (though you can swap in Outemu Browns or Outemu Black switches, which are sold separately)! It also wasn't too noisy, although I reckon its CLACKEY CLACKS are probably still a little too anti-social for sticking down in a living room, for example, unless you have particularly tolerant housemates or family members. Outemu Low Profile Mechanical switches (Red, Brown, Blue) are used on this keyboard, which have shorter travel and actuation distances for faster key presses and less finger strain. I have here the 104-key version, and the numpad aside, this review should help provide a better picture for both keyboards as a whole.
