Helvetica Standard Edits refers to a clip from the anime Nichijou that is used in remixes prior to an unfortunate event or a similar sort of " EPIC FAIL" video. Part sequel/spin off and part mind map of Keiichi Arawi, the first half of this book collects the Helvetica Standard short comic strips that were originally published in Newtype Magazine in Japan. Their version received widespread use in phototypesetting, especially among other students at the Moscow Print Institute, despite never being commercially released. For over a century, Kodansha has relentlessly pursued quality and creativity, which allows us to continuously reimagine what could be. A feature-length film directed by Gary Hustwit was released in 2007 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the typeface's introduction in 1957.

Helvetica is a common choice for commercial wordmarks, including those for 3M (including Scotch Tape), Adult Swim, American Apparel, BASF, Behance, Blaupunkt, BMW, Diaspora, ECM, Funimation, General Motors (until 2021), J. Nano asks Hakase what she going to ask Santa Claus for, Hakase wants chocolate, colored pencil, cake shaped eraser and something else. However, many of the Helvetica Standards feature characters from Nichijou and are in the anime as regular shorts. Substitute Helvetica designs that have survived into or originated during the digital period have included Monotype's Arial, Compugraphic's CG Triumvirate, ParaType's Pragmatica, Bitstream's Swiss 721, URW++'s Nimbus Sans and Scangraphic's Europa Grotesk. Although the Japanese word for pizza rhymes with the word for a visa (if Wiktionary and Google Translate are correct. Larabie has also taken inspiration from Helvetica in some of his other designs, including Movatif and GGX88. Mio swings a coin with a string through the hole in its center, staring intently at Yuuko, who watches the coin swing back and forth.
