Description

is a Fixed aperture Manual Focus (MF) Standard Prime lens with APS-C / DX max sensor coverage, and it is designed to be used with EF-M Mount cameras. Micro contrast is great, and the color and render depth is amazing but the vignetting and barrel distortion are bad.

Plus, there’s nothing loose here or anything that would make me feel like it’ll fall apart anytime soon. In fact, I don’t even use my M lenses much anymore except with a couple of exceptions like my 75 Lux, and 18 Super Elmar (I’ll be writing up a post with the Lux and SL combo). I want this lens to be “THE” lens for my life documentary photo setup, so it needs to be small enough that I am willing to bring it with me anywhere and everywhere. You might want to have a cheap lens that duplicates the toy camera look of a Holga or other cheap camera, and in that case, this lens will suit you fine.which means it’ll see a lot of time on a camera given that the focal length makes it such a great all-around lens. It’s a lot like using those old 35mm lenses adapted to a full-frame camera before they really had computers and advanced ED and aspherical elements to get those corners under control. Next Post Fujifilm X-Pro 1 review: How is the 10 years old camera still getting so much attention in 2021? I don’t know why but among the various cameras I’ve owned, the Fuji are the ones that offer the less magnification for shooting AND reviewing images.

As one of the founders of 7Artisans is an avid Leica collector, it is not tough to see some of the design fundamentals of the German made lenses found its way into the 7Artisan lenses. The Sony a9 III is the world's first full-frame mirrorless camera to feature a global electronic shutter with simultaneous readout. It’s also quite compact; smaller than the Fujifilm 35mm f2 lens that I also have (and smaller than Fuji’s 23mm f2 that I don’t have). SPIN is founded by Wilson and provides exposure to its members through travel photography, mentorship programs with National Geographic Indonesia, 500px and Scott Kelby Global Photowalks.

The skin tone from the lens is quite neutral and coupled with Fujifilm’s colour, I can’t complain much. If you want a compact camera that produces great quality photos without the hassle of changing lenses, there are plenty of choices available for every budget. I’ll still need to proof read, and get the pics ready but I’m hoping I should have it posted by a week or so. As for flare, depending on how you angle it towards the sun, it may exhibit the occasional flare but overall, I didn’t have many issues with this.I have bought M4/3 mount lenses from both 7-Artisans and Meike and rate them highly as [1] excellent value for money [2] with image quality exactly as predicted from the lens spec - so by saving on the cost of HD glass and ED elements, AF and OIS I am not surprised that I have to dial up a little bit of Chromatic Aberration correction and that "perfect" distortion correction requires a touch of correction in post-processing. For precise focusing i should always press the magnification button, and while i’m focusing i miss the whole frame 🙂 Then i’m going back to full view, framing again, then press the magnification, focusing, full view again, …. As the night sky do not have straight lines in the sky, to de-fish (or to correct fish eye lens distortion) is not as difficult and more forgiving if there are mistakes. This leaves the 7Artisans 25mm lens as the only option for a cheap lens that functions as a 35mm on an APS-C camera.

There was also some dust in the lens when I got it and after only a few more days a lot more appeared. I started to slow down a bit in my photography, something film photography has taught me, to be a bit more intentional. The Meike / 7-Artisans manual 25mm's are both heavier than my Lumix 25mm - so this Meike lens has to earn its place in my bag through its extra creative potential ! I can’t stop shooting it; it’s all I want to use, and as I mentioned in my previous reply to you, I’ve been shooting it more than any other camera. Macro review, and I will post it in the beginning of next week but now, I’m going to talk to you a little about the Photoelectric 25mm f1.

Be sure to thoroughly inspect your lens after receiving it as you may need to exchange your lens for another copy. Speaking of Rokinon / Samyang who is known for having very random performance between copies, I would assume this lens is the same. It has a silver ring at the front which makes the style even more fitted with the whole vintage look that Fujifilm cameras roll with. It’s only if you’re shooting a white wall where you’ll notice it more, and really, how many of us are going to be shooting white walls all the time ;)? To me the combination of focal length and depth of field is perfect for street photography as it allows a lot of light to hit the sensor and wide enough to do environmental portraiture.
