So overall performance wise, I will say that the Boombox 3 performs better than the Boombox 2… and this is a much larger performance improvement than what we saw when going from the original boombox to the boombox 2.

It's also better built with an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, meaning it's dust-tight and immersible in up to a meter of water for 30 minutes.

JBL moved the Bluetooth button to share with power, while it’s old spot is taken up by the PartyBoost button. Check out the next generation JBL Boombox 3 for a speaker with less compression present at max volume. But the boombox 3 still has your dual frontward firing 3 quarter inch tweeters… however they’re stacked on top of the mid range woofers.

Even its you were to go in and raise the bass on the Boombox 2 all the way up… its not going to match the Boombox 3. JBL doesn’t reinvent all that much with this newer iteration of the Boombox, though did manage to change its multi-speaker connectivity and keep it friendly to water. Unfortunately, it lacks some low-bass, so you might not feel the thump and deep rumble in action-packed movie scenes.It's also better-built, with an IPX7 rating for water resistance, though we don't currently test for this.
