Kate Dale is a stand up comedian, who has co-founded The Queer Comedy Club (London’s first permanent queer comedy venue), and responsible for the ‘This Girl Can’ campaign for Sports England. A regular guest on panel shows, she created and starred in her own comedy short ELLIE SOLVES PARENTING on Sky One. of the time she will have done none of these things, but, like many pathological liars, she’s extremely charismatic. I usually favour an actual book in my hands but this worked so well as an audio book I can't imagine a hard copy could beat it. My Child And Other Mistakes is the honest lowdown on motherhood and all its grisly delights, asking the questions no one wants to admit to asking themselves - do I want a child?

I hope you realise the strength and impact of your talent to be able to simultaneously make someone laugh and fill their soul when they didn't think it was possible. Growing up on the family farm in Ballyfin, Ireland, Noel's childhood was spent tending to the cattle and sheep, the hay and silage, the tractors and land, his beloved sheepdog, Pirate, pro. You probably don't know what it feels like to be a child prodigy or a world class violinist, but you will after reading this luminous me.While still an enjoyable book, it's very much a 'motherhood memoir' as opposed to a thinkpiece about reproduction. In the end we settled on a brand-new childcare centre that was big, bright and had cameras in every room, meaning I’d be able to watch Ratbag steal maracas from the mouths of other kids from the comfort of my own home. As well as personal stories, both emotional and funny, Ellie supplements these chapters of her life with data and facts about parenthood that were so eye opening.

This is a used book - there is no escaping the fact it has been read by someone else and it will show signs of wear and previous use. I was working in Greece and ended up at a photographer’s house covered in baby oil, doing all these sexy shots. It acts as a forceful reminder that for most women – no matter how deep your love – having your first child is a brutal and irreversible shock. It is obvious that she loves her child very much, but that doesn't mean that she doesn't feel some of the more challenging things that come alongside that and she's not afraid to say so.Ellie Taylor has a vibrant personality that really seeps through into the writing, making it easy to read compulsively - I hadn't known of her before but would definitely be interested in her other work. Well, because I am mother to a 5 month old and am currently at the stage of craving anything that makes me feel ‘seen’.
