About this deal

You spin the dial to move up and down web pages or documents with complete ease while the ball has been specially designed with an absolute spherical, hard surface for precise tracking and control. You can set app-specific mappings for as many programs as you like, and upload those mapping files to either Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive for transfer from one device to another. Compatible with Windows 7 "Compatible with Windows 7" software and devices carry Microsoft’s assurance that these products have passed tests for compatibility and reliability with 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7. The large ball rolls smoothly and allows for fast movement across the screen with very small movements.

If you are in one of those groups, a trackball could make sense for day-to-day computing to keep repetitive strain injury in check, but it isn't suitable for high-performance tasks. This mouse has an unbelievable feel in the hand, the huge ball is effortless to move, it is easy to clean, the scroll wheel works flawlessly, and the wrist pad makes it very comfortable to use for many hours. Every now and then you need to take the ball out and clean the surface below to keep the rotation smooth. If I’m on a site, I just want to scroll down the list, stopping here or there, but now it jumps past stuff. The four large buttons can be programmed to do exactly you want, all making for a simple and effective workflow with minimal movement from your hand and arm.It appears that Kensington in their wisdom wanted to have it moving in small steps so they introduced a magnet. When you take the Kensington Expert Mouse trackball out of the box you might be surprised by the size. I thought (and still kind of think) that I got a defective unit, but apparently this is widespread amongst just about every unit.

The scroll ring, in particular, feels incredibly natural to use: You can easily scroll up and down using one finger without moving the others out of rolling position. One enthusiast by the name of “ripster” took this trackball apart to figure out why the scroll ring does not work smoothly. I’ve been using a Logitech Cordless Optical TrackMan for as long as they’ve been out and never had problems with the signal (except when batteries are low) and that’s with several monitors, powered speakers, wireless computer keyboard, lots of wiring and audio gear surrounding my chair. The need to be accurate at high speed is rare unless you play video games or edit art professionally.

The only competition, in my opinion, is the Kensington SlimBlade (looks better, same size ball, but more expensive and scrolling is not as good) or the Kensington Orbit with Scroll Ring (much cheaper, scrolling is better, but two buttons less and smaller ball than the Expert). Truly, the ring feels like a feature that every trackball designer should steal gong forward, and it's shocking that other devices handle scrolling in other ways. However, once I received it and set it up, I noticed that the scroll wheel was incredibly loud and rough. Just like any other trackball or mouse, the buttons will show signs of use after a few years of intense use. Add it all up and you get exceptional comfort and ease-of-use from the brand that has set the industry standard in trackballs for more than 30 years. These issues are endemic to all trackballs, not just the Expert Mouse Wireless, so I'm not criticizing Kensington here. Until I publish the review, take a look at the features of the Kensington Expert Wireless Trackball below, or read the review of the Wired Expert model.

If you tend to keep a pack of AAs in the drawer for all situations, you might prefer its reliance on disposables. The top buttons can be set to for example back / forward, media player functions, launching applications or documents etcetera. The new version, KensingtonWorks, is a simple, utilitarian program that lets you make crucial adjustments to the trackball's sensitivity and button-mapping. To help the connection of your appliance go smoothly, please watch our dishwasher or washing machine connection video. This thick, firm, leatherette-coated pad serves as a guide, much like the hump along the left ridge of a mouse, ensuring that your hand sits in the right place with your fingers in the correct position over the trackball.Optical tracking with the mouse is highly accurate with DiamondEye ™ movement detection technology providing smooth, precise cursor control. I have worn out about four Kensington Orbit Trackball with Scroll Ring’s – the switches give up too early. I really can’t understand why anyone would use a normal mouse, while this Expert is available to make your computer experience so much better. as real users, posing a threat to a site’s security, so the site sometimes runs random security checks. Then you’ll be pleased to know that we offer flexible payment options including PayPal Credit and Klarna Pay in 3.
