About this deal

Redemptionists often arm themselves with whatever comes to hand upon the onset of a crusade or mob gathering. Though Flame Weapons or Chain Weapons are most favored. When this Article pops off, the fighter can leap truly ridiculous distances, and jump down from the loftiest of heights. The best thing about this Article, though, is the provision that once you declare it is happening, there’s no stopping the leap or jump from happening, even if the Article fails to go off! Once you decide to jump, you have to trust your faith to carry you!

Redemptionist beliefs are based on the Imperial Creed, which holds that mankind is ruled and guided by the Emperor. While the Imperial Creed has definite militant overtones, the Redemption has taken it one stage further. Heresy (denying the truth of the Redemption, or working against Redemptionists or worst of all worshiping Chaos) Friends, this book is great . So great, that Dan went out and bought 2 Cawdor boxes, 1 Redemptionist box, both FW weapon sets, bomb rats, and is currently scouring the known world for the Cawdor head upgrade kit. Are Cawdor unbeatable now? Absolutely not. They still have crappy dudes and most of them have crappy skills. But are they fun as hell with near-infinite customizability? Absolutely yes . The trashbois have made out like bandits in House of Faith , and we expect Necromunda players to enjoy playing with it and against it for the foreseeable future. Boning Swords: You might remember from our coverage of the Corpse Grinder Cults, but we were gaga for Boning Swords. Cawdor gangs will tend to get into melee more often than not, so a little bit of help in that department from a solid and cheap option is always appreciated.

A strict adherence to the vengeful spirit of the Imperial Creed is the first step down the road to becoming a Redemptionist. Faithful communities from all across the Imperium of Man produce Redemptionists and their cults. The Imperial Creed is not a forgiving faith. Those who observe its doctrines in the strictest possible way know that redemption is only found in death. A Crusade is a gathering led by a religious figurehead, thus often has a more focused direction than a mob.

Do not suffer the heretic for they have heard the Emperor’s truth and have heeded it not. Force them to penance and then to death. We saw upgrade kits for 5 of the 6 House Gangs this year. Getting this stuff in plastic rules! However… all of the kits contain two of the same sprue, so you end up with a lot of duplicated gear that you’re just never going to use. The Goliath kit comes with 2 flamers and 2 meltaguns… but no other heavy options. Thankfully, you do get some new heads and a sweet cigar-toting arm. S moking is still cool in the underhive. Fighting Knife [anyone]: The ol’ shank ain’t the worst weapon around, but it’s not the best ever. The Axe is cheaper and gives a more reliable strength bonus. At least this one comes with some AP. Rating: C-Blasting Charges: When strapped to bomb rats, Blasting Charges really start to shine. Their shorter range is mitigated, and their potential for destruction cannot be denied. They’re also the cheaper of the two “good” grenades, so go ahead and grab them first. Rating, when strapped to a rat: A

Redemptionist Brethren (Ganger): Sheesh, it would have been nice for the Necro crew to come up with another name for Redemptionist gangers, but whatever. Redemptionist Brethren have similarly mediocre stats when compared to Cawdor Brethren, but don’t have access to blunderpoles and don’t get Devout Masses. And they’re 5 credits more expensive. Unfortunately, the only reason to take Redemptionist Brethren is to pad out your Fanatical fighters to become or stay Outlaws. As gangers, they’re honestly fine , but they’re nowhere near the optimal choice. Recommended equipment: chain glaive, greatsword, mesh armor, scrap shield, cheapo pistols, blunderpole. It is possible for both men and women to be a member of one of these cults, perhaps coming from an Ecclesiarchical monastic community dedicated to zealous Redemptionist doctrines. It is equally likely that a cardinal or Inquisitor had an individual trained as a Redemptionist from birth to serve in a specific capacity. The fiery zealots of House Cawdor are implacable righteous fighters, totally unforgiving, and prefer weapons which allow them to get close enough to their enemy to enjoy taking them down. Their heavy hoods and cowls give them the very grim look of faceless warriors with no understanding of mercy or forgiveness, and they expect none in return. [2a] [2b] [7] [8] Acts of Faith: House Cawdor’s special gang ability is one of the best and most fun on the books. They passively generate faith dice that can be rolled for in-game miracles. This ability costs no credits and can be used in any battle. It is a major reason why post- House of Faith Cawdor gangs are so rightly feared.Although ostensibly pro-Imperial, such militant factions can often pose more of a threat to the Emperor's peace than the Heretics they seek to destroy. Their mob mentality and ability to rouse a populace into a frenzied witch hunt, blinded by its all-consuming need for the guilty and blasphemous to be cleansed, can cause serious problems to any planetary government, upsetting the precarious balance of power which allows a world to continue to exist in a galaxy that contains a thousand and one threats. So, there’s really too much content to review here. Each Path of Faith is good, and you ought to choose the Path that most reflects your playstyle and gang’s theme. You really can’t go wrong. I am, however, going to highlight my favorite Path, the Path of the Doomed . Restless Faith: This fighter can choose to come out of Recovery early and take part in a battle. If they do, they start the battle with a Flesh Wound. Hyper-situational. You’re probably not going to see this one used very often, as the player can’t really control when it’s used, or even if it will ever be used. That being said, it’s definitely a nice-to-have on an important character like a Leader.
