There is a notable difference when comparing Henry 160 vs 200 in terms of bag capacity. The HVR200 model provides a huge nine litre capacity in comparison to the six litres you get with the HVR160. Even at 6 litres the Henry 160 offers more than five times the capacity of many bagless vacuums, but at 9 litres the Henry 200 model is in a different league. Either way, both the HVR160 and HVR200 offer large capacities, but if you want as much capacity as possible then the HVR200 model should appeal. The benefit of a larger capacity means emptying less often and using less bags, but as above both of these models offer a large capacity. When shopping for a small home you have less mess – but less storage space. For this we suggest the Henry Micro, which will do a great job while fitting snugly into small spaces. What’s a Numatic Henry? The Henry range have tremendous amounts of colour to them – but only one (very distinctive) style. If it has that big happy face, if the nose is the vacuum hose, and if it perpetually, moronically, and frustratingly never stops grinning? It’s a Henry. We have covered just about everything there is you need to know before you make your choice. The Henry vacuum cleaner range is extensive and iconic. There is a high chance that they will be the only thing to survive a nuclear explosion and still work.

The power cable is a generous 10 metres in length and the genius rotary dial at the top of Henry makes retrieving the cord a doddle – which is just the sort of convenience we appreciate after undertaking a good vacuuming session. The Henry HVR 160-11 features an integrated grab handle and a clever wind-up reel to retreive the machine's 10-metre power cable. There have been a number of iterations to Henry over the last decade in terms of motor power, meaning the Henry Hoover suction power and wattage is different depending on which model you have at your disposal. While this setup works well enough, experience has taught me that the various sections of the pole can become stiff and difficult to pull apart over time. To avoid this, I recommend pulling them apart at the end of each clean, and loosely rejoining them for storage.A new Henry vacuum will come with a fitted bag ready to be used and also come with two spare bags. The HVR160 and HVR200 models use Numatic’s HepaFlo bags, which have been specifically designed for Henry machines. The bags have been built to maximise capacity and ariflow, helping to deliver peak suction. The Henry with the most versatility is probably the George. It cleans your curtains, cushions, carpets, hard floors, your car, your drains, and probably everything else in your life. Beyond that, the Henry vacuum cleaner range has a pet hair model, a wet/dry model, and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The range is versatile within itself. I measure the raw power of all vacuum cleaners in AirWatts, which is a combination of airflow and suction power. This is a true measurement of power that lets us compare the performance of different models. While the traditional Henry has an A class energy efficiency rating, other models don’t match it. The worst is actually the Harry, which has a C class energy efficiency rating. It is important because a higher consumption vacuum cleaner will use more, costing you more in power. They aren’t as environmentally friendly either, so if being E-friendly is important to you the basic Henry is the better model. Size & Shape These vacuums were originally British made exclusively, but now they have manufacturing plants all over the world. Demand grew and the Henry crossed the sea. They are a thoroughly British vacuum cleaner. Where Can I Buy Henry Vacuum Range Bags?

An additional versatility with the Henry range are the bags. You can use the same set of bags throughout the majority of their machines. The wet and dry, the pet hair, and the larger models all use a one-size-fits-all-capacities bag. It makes it easier to shop. Durability & Reliability A unique aero-brush is great if you have pets in the house. It provides an outstanding level of cleaning with carpets and is the perfect tool for cleaning up pet hairs, as well as those bits of pet food that don’t quite stay in the bowl and other edibles such as cat grass. A hard floor brush means it can continue cleaning on hard floor surfaces while a 10m power cable provides extensive reach. There’s always a frugal member of the family and James is it. Bright blue in colour he’s efficient to run and offers a different approach to storage and attachments. Those dealing with pet hair regularly will likely appreciate the pet-specific and odour reducing features of the Henry Pet. If there’s one thing you expect from a Henry, it’s the cute face painted on the front of the iconic red body. It was a cute touch when Henry first launched, and it remains an enduring symbol that gives the vacuum cleaner a personality and life. It’s easy to love this vacuum cleaner. The 6-litre capacity of Henry HVR 160-11 is large enough for most domestic uses but if you're dealing with a particularly large space or just need a large capacity cleaner then the 9L Henry Xtra may be a better fit. In certain situations the slightly limited articulation of the tool can mean you may need to move yourself a little more than with an upright cleaner but in general it’s a capable bit of equipment that has been built to last. Dialling down the suction can sometimes be necessary and providing you’re using the stainless tubes it’s something that is easy to do thanks to a bypass valve that drops up to 30% of suction power. A filtered release valve on the stainless steel wand reduces suction power by up to 30%. - Oli Woodman / Our Media
